These terms apply to anyone who uses dui.guru, including the free case analysis form, the DUI tools, the DUI library, the blog, the videos, the client intake form and the live chat. By using the site you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
This site is not legal advice
Everything on dui.guru is general information about California DUI law. It is not legal advice about your case, and it may not be current by the time you read it. Laws change, courts read them differently, and the facts of one arrest can change the answer completely.
Please don't act, or decide not to act, based only on something you read here. Talk to a California attorney about your own situation first.
This website is attorney advertising under the California Rules of Professional Conduct.
No attorney-client relationship
Reading the site, filling out a form, using a tool, chatting, calling, texting or emailing us does not make us your lawyers. An attorney-client relationship is formed only by a signed written agreement. Until then, we have not agreed to represent you, and we are not required to accept your case.
Information you send through the site may not be treated as privileged or confidential. Please don't send anything sensitive before you have hired us.
The case analysis and the DUI tools
The free case analysis and the calculators estimate what might happen based on the answers you give. They are predictive and informational only. They are generated automatically from your answers and are not a substitute for talking with an attorney about your case. A wrong or incomplete answer on the form will give you a wrong result.
No particular outcome is guaranteed. Past results do not guarantee future outcomes.
The analysis is for California arrests only. If you already have a lawyer for the matter, we can't advise you about it.
Calls, texts and emails
If you tick the text message box, you agree that we may send automated text messages to the number you gave, including your case analysis and a short series of follow-up texts. If you tick the call box, you agree that the attorney may place a live phone call to the number you gave to discuss your case, and may leave a recorded voicemail if you do not answer. We can email your analysis and follow-up emails either way. You do not have to tick either box to use the dui.guru site.
About text messages:
- How many texts you get depends on your case and your replies.
- Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan.
- Reply STOP to any automated text to stop receiving them.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Every automated email has an unsubscribe link.
The client intake form
The intake form is for people who have already hired us. Please give accurate, complete answers, and upload only documents you have the right to share. Submitting the form does not by itself create an attorney-client relationship if you have not signed an agreement with us.
Using the site properly
Please don't:
- submit false information, or someone else's information without their permission;
- send spam, advertising or sales pitches through the forms or chat;
- try to break, overload or get around the security of the site;
- copy large parts of the site, or scrape it with automated tools, for republication.
We can block access, or ignore a submission, when the site is being misused.

Some things are not ours. Statutes, court forms, and government publications are public records, and we do not claim them. Client reviews belong to the people who wrote them. Other companies' names and logos belong to those companies.

The site links to other websites, including court and government pages, YouTube, and our social media profiles. We don't control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. Videos embedded from YouTube are also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service.

Our Privacy Policy explains what the site collects and how it is used. It is part of these terms.
Disclaimers
The site is provided "as is." We try to keep it accurate and working, but we don't promise that every page is complete, current or error-free, or that the site will always be available.
Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss that comes from using the site, from relying on its content, or from a case analysis or tool result. This section is about the website only. It does not limit any duty we owe to a client under a signed agreement, or any responsibility the rules for California attorneys do not allow us to limit.
Governing law
California law governs these terms. If a court finds any part of them unenforceable, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a term right away does not waive it.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The new version goes on this page with a new date at the top, and it applies from that date.
